Floor to ceiling windows are a fantastic feature in any home. The great advantage of this type of window is they help to make a home feel spacious and open; allowing for customers to have a full-length view of the beautiful outside. This is especially effective when living in rural areas with vast amounts of greenery and nature; bringing the outside in. However, sometimes this can cause problems with privacy and unwanted light in some parts of the day. For this reason, many customers ask ‘can I have floor to ceiling blinds on my window?’
A customer in Essex with this exact question recently contacted us, as they were trying to find a neat solution to cover their 7 meter floor to ceiling window. The window consisted of a large gable, many rectangular shaped glazing and six folding doors. The beautiful feature window added a WOW factor to their lounge area.
Floor to Ceiling Gable Blinds
To cover the large top area of the window, we used our innovative pureaspect™ system for triangular window blinds. After extensive research, our factory in Ashford, Kent can manufacture blinds which not only cover the triangular windows but also the regular shaped windows below. This meant we could cover the entire 3-meter-wide space with just two blinds. Whether that be covering angled windows or large blinds for windows of any shape.

Floor to Ceiling Blinds: Folding Doors
To cover the folding doors below, we installed our bespoke recessed fitted blinds. Thanks to our years of experience in the industry, we can install blinds for bifold doors which do not affect the operation of the doors. This is because we fit the blinds against the glass, sitting next to the beading of the window frame. For an extra special touch, the customer opted for a floating stack rail, which allows for the blinds to sit either at the top, middle or bottom of the window, giving the customer full control for shading the room throughout the day.
Duette® Pleated Blinds
To create a truly integrated appearance, we used our popular Duette® pleated fabric in colour ‘Portland’. This type of fabric is brilliant at:
- Controlling temperature
- Reducing glare
- Increasing privacy
However, another main advantage of this type of fabric is when paired with our pure™ rail system; the blinds retract away neatly with no visible cords or wires. This means the customer can retract the blinds when wanting to enjoy the beautiful views outside and then can extend them when wanting to add shading to the room.
We would also recommend installing automated blinds for your home, such as smart blinds, remote control blinds and battery operated blinds.
