The Best Places to Install Remote Control Roller Blinds

There are many areas of glazing that remote-control roller blinds are suitable for; such as areas that are out of reach, instances where there’s a large blind or where there are many blinds to control. By installing automated blinds it can just make shading your home simpler and easier.

Remote Control Roller Blinds for Bifold Doors

Roller blinds are a very efficient way to cover wide areas of glazing such as multiple doors. Our bespoke roller blinds are particularly good as cost-effective window coverings for bifold doors whilst still providing a top-quality product.

Roller blinds are fitted just above the door and often hang in front of the doors, which is why they are a popular shading option for sliding doors or bifold doors. Having the material hanging in front allows your doors to fold – or slide across – without interference. With motorised roller blinds, there are no cords to control the blinds with and nothing that can interrupt the mechanism or tangle it.

This set-up also allows you to open your doors behind the blinds, so you can shade your room whilst still circulating fresh air. By controlling your bifold door blinds or sliding door blinds with a remote you can control your blinds from a distance. You can also control your blinds individually or all at once with just one remote.

Lantern Roof Blinds: Remote Control Duette® or Roller Blinds

When it comes to shading a roof lantern, there are two notable options to consider.

Roller Lantern Roof Blinds are great for covering your roof without visible support wires. They instead use a ‘zip’-like system that runs across the base of the lantern, giving the blinds a neat look when retracted. However, with extra large lantern roof blinds, we may use an interim bar in the middle to ensure no sagging.

Remote control roller blinds are a great option here, they are out of reach so some might find it difficult to control them manually. Instead you can simply open and shut them with the click of a remote. However, battery-operated blinds in a lantern roof are a great option for those without a power-source nearby.

Alternatively, you can shade your roof with our Duette® lantern roof blinds that has added thermal regulation properties due to its honeycomb structure.

Large Windows

Our blinds run larger than standard blind suppliers. We can cover large areas of glazing with just one or two roller blinds depending on the shape. Additionally, by connecting a form of motorisation to your blind you can also navigate your floor-to-ceiling window blinds with ease. Remote Edit 2
Orangeries

Orangeries, such as the image pictured above, often come with a large lantern roof, many doors or large side windows. In this case, you can cover your orangery from top to bottom with roller blinds. Since we would recommend roller blinds for your lantern roof and your side blinds, you can install matching blinds in both places for a cohesive look. Remote control blinds in this case, can shade your whole room in seconds.

Alternative Motorisation Options to Remote Controls…

  • Battery-powered Blinds: Are optimal if you don’t have a nearby power-source. The batteries even have the option of being solar-charged, which is great for Lantern Roof Blinds.
  • Smart Blinds: With our smart blinds, you can connect your blinds to an app on your phone and a smart home device. With a smart home device, you can control your blinds via your voice or set them on a timer. If you use our Somfy® app, then you can shade your home even when you’re out of the house.
