Exciting news here at Specialist Blinds… We’ve renamed ourselves The Specialist Blind Company Limited! From our creation, in May 1995 we’ve been ever-changing and constantly growing to keep ahead of the curve. We have grown to become the largest family-owned conservatory blinds specialists in the country and we aren’t stopping there! We’re always crafting market-leading technology at our factory in Ashford, Kent where we make all our own unique blinds. Everything from our factory to our blinds – is bespoke. This means we can provide you with the very best service – from our initial advice, right through to the manufacturing and attention to detail paid at installation.

Our History: From Conservatory Blinds Limited to The Specialist Blind Company Limited

Conservatory Blinds Ltd was established over 25 years ago, where we initially specialised in conservatory blinds. Now we provide bespoke blind solutions for all over the home.

When orangeries and conservatories were in their peak popularity, our pure pleated blinds range was our most popular. We have the unique ability to fit blinds over those unique shapes often found in conservatory roofs. Additionally, our blinds are not just house blinds that are placed in conservatories – they were created for conservatories. So they have the best possible fit and can stay looking like new for years

Pinoleum blinds are a great shading solution that provide you with a woven natural finish that also helps with temperature control and privacy. These blinds, like ourselves, have grown as technology has moved forward and we have combined that traditional look with unique solar lining.

Alongside our conservatory blinds, we also fit our blinds to difficult-to-cover bifold doors, lantern roofs and gables.

However, as our range expanded, so did our coverage and our team. Our team has grown to around 60 people and now covers most of England. In order to produce this increased quantity of blinds at our continued quality, we also had to upgrade our factory with purpose-built machines and powder-coating facilities.

pureaspect™ Gable Blind System

Drawing our inspiration from gable-end conservatories, we then developed the pureaspect™ Gable Blind system to cover the triangular shape with a minimal amount of blinds. Then this grew to us covering grand feature projects with floor to ceiling blinds for apex-shaped windows and extra large lantern roofs. For lantern roofs and other large areas of glazing like bifold doors, roller blinds became a staple solution, as did Duette®. By opting for roller blinds, we can cover a lantern roof meters-big with only one blind and no support wire by using our neat zip-like system. Whereas Duette® is optimal for temperature control and shading with just one or two blinds over your lantern’s base.

Our pure Pinoleum and Pleated blinds are still just as popular as they were in our earlier years, however Duette® Thermal Blinds are often our recommended solution.  Their honeycomb texture and ensures heat is trapped in the winter time and reflected in the summer for year-round comfort.

In summary, we were able to find a solution for almost any uniquely shaped glazing. Whereas other companies struggled and it began to highlight why you need Specialist Blinds for angled windows and other glazed features within your home.

Why The Specialist Blind Co. Limited?

We have been Specialist Blinds for a while now, which has been a welcome change since we developed past conservatories and orangeries… So, it’s simply time that our name reflects what we do! The full name is The Specialist Blind Co. Limited and we will still be trading as Specialist Blinds going forward. We look forward to hearing from you and arranging your free quotation appointment today!
