Lantern roofs are becoming a popular addition to many homes around the UK. This is because, practically they are a great way to flood light into your home.
Horizontal Lantern Roof Blinds
Horizontal blinds for lantern roofs are quickly becoming an extremely popular type of blind; with many people adding lantern roofs to their homes as part of glass extensions. Our customers are now looking for an elegant way of providing shading to their roof for a moderate price.
We’ve been able to provide this style of blinds for several years now; but as they become more popular we strive to continuously improve our horizontal blinds. Thanks to a new way of fitting, we can install lantern roof blinds with minimal light gaps around the edge. This provides a neater, more integrated look.
Duette® Pleated Fabrics
This blind was fitted at the end of last month using our new system, using a Duette® Dim-Out fabric that can provide total shading for the lantern roof. The blind uses battery-powered remote control operation, so that it can be operated with a touch of a button.
Depending on the size of the lantern, it’s possible for us to cover the area with just a single blind using no wires across the base. So, when the blind is no longer needed it can retract away neatly to give an unobstructed view.
Operation options
Thanks to our intelligent remote control system, customers can operate the blind easily. There are various operation options available for these blinds, including:
- Mains Powered – Customers that have the access to the electrics in their lantern roof opt for the mains powered option for simple operation.
- Battery Powered – for customers that do not have electrics in their roof, our battery powered system allows for them to still have a remote-control blind. Depending on how often the blinds get used, many only recharge their batteries twice a year.
- Solar Powered– our battery powered blinds are also available with an optional solar charging pack. This means the battery can recharge throughout the day by using the power of the sun.
- Manually- Some customers prefer to opt for our manual blinds, which does not require any batteries or mains power. Instead, the hortionzal lantern roof blind is operated by a pole which attaches onto a small clip situated at the end of the blind.
Individual Layout Option
Our lantern roof blinds are also available in an individual layout. Therefore, instead of the lantern blind operating horizontally across a roof. We are also able to install blinds that fit to each individual roof panel. This provides customers with neat but sleek blinds; which can be fitted around obstructions that may occur in a lantern roof.
