Bespoke roller blinds are an excellent way to cover large areas of glazing with only a few blinds. We offer a wide range of made to measure roller blinds that range in fabric, controls and style. When retracted your fabric rolls away into a neat cylinder without any bulks of excess material or stringy wires hanging down. Additionally, we offer an optional cassette to conceal the roller and give you the most elegant solution possible. In the picture below you can see just how invisible they appear when retracted.
Where To Use Made To Measure Roller Blinds
Roller Blinds are often used over standard rectangular house windows. But, with our bespoke blinds, we can go that extra step further. As opposed to DIY or budget options, with Specialist Blinds you can rest assured that your blinds are crafted to your exact measurements with only the highest quality of materials.
Roller Blinds for Doors
Some people have wall to wall glazing like the photo above featuring sliding doors. Many people find sliding doors difficult to shade due to the sliding mechanism as wires can get tangled or interfere with the tracks. With made to measure roller blinds we can fit the blinds just above the doors so they hang in front of them. By having them measured by us, you ensure as little gaps as possible between blinds and sleek operation. Similarly, roller blinds are effective in shading bifold doors, French doors and tilt and turn doors. They’re particularly useful for when you want to shade your room but leave your doors open behind for fresh air.
Lantern Roof Roller Blinds
A horizontal roller blind is a very popular solution for shading a lantern roof. We are able to fit a frame around the edge of the roof because of the standard rectangular shape, which ensures the material does not sag. One of the key advantages of the lantern roof roller blind is they do not require any wires across the roof. This means that there is no obstruction in the view when you retract the blinds.
Made to Measure Blinds for Conservatories and Orangeries
We would only recommend roller blinds on the sides of a conservatory as the roller blinds featured above are only available for lantern roofs. We do not recommend roller blinds for conservatory roofs as the various triangular and odd-shaped windows found in conservatories mean we are not able to apply the same framework around a conservatory roof as we would with a lantern roof.
Roller Material and Transparencies
Including a variety of colours to choose from, you can also customise the transparency of your material with made to measure roller blinds. So, if you would like roller blinds in your bedroom you can look at our dim-out options. Alternatively, if you would like natural light alongside some dappled shading to reduce glare you should look into our translucent options.
Types of Control for Roller Blinds
You can control your roller blinds manually for a simple fix, however we offer cutting edge motorised Roller Blinds too.
You have the option to control your blinds with your voice if you connect them to a smart home device. For example, an Amazon Alexa®, Google Home® or Somfy® Tahoma.
On the other hand, you can click a button on your smartphone or remote. You can extend or retract them individually or all at once if you prefer.
These options are especially effective for those wishing to shade out of reach areas such as lantern roof blinds. Also, you have control of your blinds even while you’re out of your house.
