We often take on big projects with floor-to-ceiling window blinds, arched window blinds and apex window blinds. Therefore, we can help you if you’re looking for cathedral window blinds at home since we offer unique shading solutions. In order to create blinds for cathedral-style windows, we use pureaspect™ technology that we initially developed for gable blinds. This is because cathedral-style windows often feature unusually shaped windows that have an arched or triangular apex to them.
Best Fabrics for Cathedral Window Blinds
Whether you’re looking for blinds for shade, insulation or privacy, we have an array of fabrics for you to choose from. The pureaspect™ gable blind technology is designed to cover the unique shape at the top of a blind and then drop down to cover the rest of the more standard rectangular shape. Below are some of our recommended fabrics for rounded or arched window blinds.
Our pure™ pleated blinds work well for unique shapes, as they were specifically designed for use in conservatory roofs. Thanks to our bespoke manufacturing techniques, we can make our blinds very large or very narrow. Ensuring we cover as much of the window as possible. The more of your glazing that is covered, the less heat from your room – keeping your heating bills low.
For more modern-looking cathedral window blinds, we recommend our Duette® thermal blinds. The honeycomb fabric of our Duette® blinds makes them effective at insulating any room with a large amount of glazing.
In cases where the odd-shaped window is above a set of bifold doors, we offer large triangular blinds for apex windows that cover the gable and then drop down covering the rectangular-shaped glazing below. This is similar to how cathedral window blinds are crafted.
Specialist Cathedral Blinds
Your standard blind supplier might not only struggle with the shape of your glazing but the size. Cathedral windows can be smaller and more rounded however they can span from floor to ceiling in some cases. With blinds for large windows we go that extra mile – installing large towers and crafting extra large blinds. A blinds specialist we have the facilities in our UK factory in Ashford, Kent and unique new vans to transport large blinds.
Our expert installation team also has experience in working around obstructions and any woodwork. We initially gained experience in gable blinds from working on gable-end conservatories or when installing floor-to-ceiling blinds on feature windows. As you can see from the video below – it is becoming increasingly popular to install electric blinds on cathedral window blinds or other large feature windows. This is typically due to awkward height and for ease of control.
