Conservatory Roof Insulation Solution – Conservatory Blinds

Posted: 19 Oct 2023

Are you looking to improve your conservatory roof insulation? Conservatory blinds are an effective solution for insulating conservatory roofs. With conservatory blinds, the fabric acts as a barrier between the cold glazing and the inside temperature of your room. This barrier, therefore, stops heat from escaping through the glazing. Not only do blinds offer conservatory roof insulation, they can also help to reduce your energy costs and shade your home.

The Benefits of Conservatory Roof Blinds include:

  • Our conservatory roof blinds retract neatly in subtle stacks to seamlessly fit your conservatory with minimal gaps for heat to escape.
  • We designed our blinds to let in natural light so the room can still be naturally lit even when the blinds are extended, whilst also offering a thermal property.
  • Our conservatory roof blinds offer the benefit of looking aesthetically pleasing whilst potentially saving on energy costs.
  • You can customise the look of your conservatory with our extensive fabric range and bespoke RAL powder coated colour finish. These can match your frames or complement your décor.
  • We offer a range of smart blinds by using our unique pure™ technology. This means our electric conservatory blinds can be powered by mains, or battery powered. Both can be linked to home automated systems such as Google Home or Amazon Alexa.

Blind Solutions for Conservatory Roof Insulation

Duette® thermal blinds

Duette® thermal blinds are our most popular range of blinds, as they are designed with thermal technology. The clever hexagonal structure of these blinds trap heat and stop it from escaping through your conservatory, making them an excellent choice for insulation. The made-to-measure blinds will also ensure there are minimal gaps and therefore preserve more heat. These are your best option if you find your conservatory too cold.

pure™ Pleated Blinds for Conservatory Roof Insulation

We designed our pure™ Pleated Blinds for conservatories in particular to withstand the extreme temperatures they face. These blinds also offer effective conservatory roof insulation, and we can install them around any mouldings. As seen in the photo below, the pure™ rails seamlessly match the conservatory itself, since we have a wide range of colours to suit any room.

Pinoleum Blinds

Pinoleum blinds can also be used for conservatory roof insulation with their optional solar backing. However, we do not fit these as close to the windows as the other materials and therefore offer less insulation in comparison. These are popular blinds for orangery shading and timber-framed conservatories. These retract into folds of material around the edge of your conservatory roof and offer dappled shading. This fabric is good for reducing harsh glare and preventing major heat loss.

Motorisation

You also have the option to control all of our blinds electronically.  Our motorisation options include: remote control blinds, smart blinds and battery-powered blinds.

Having motorised blinds gives you the option to control all your blinds at once or individually from a distance. We recommend grouping your blinds together as a quick and easy solution for people with many smaller blinds covering their conservatory roof. With our electric conservatory blinds, you can open and close up to 99 blinds from a single handset.

Of course, there are alternative methods for retaining heat in your conservatory, but many have a more permanent effect. For example, a solid roof replacement. This can offer a very effective insulation solution but will take a large proportion of that all important light out of your space.

Customer reviews

Absolutely the best service you could ever want. Steve the rep was so helpful and just a really great guy. Blinds are beautiful. I will use them again when I am replacing the rubbishy blinds I got from a company in Norwich 4 years ago. Great service from Steve and his company.

Ryan fitted the motorised blinds quickly, efficiently and with the minimum of fuss. Excellent service. The motors are unobtrusive and simple to operate. The blinds are effective in reducing heat from outside. This is not the cheapest quote I had but I feel that I have got good value!

Really pleased with the installation of dual blinds to our large, 4.6 metre long, roof lantern, in fabric to match our window blinds.

Very neat job by our fitter Jon Bradley, the dual blinds open and close perfectly in sync. We can thoroughly recommend this company to deal with.
