Can I get Ceiling Blinds for a Conservatory?

Posted: 22 Dec 2022

When it comes to shading your conservatory roof, there are many unique windows that make it difficult to shade without a blind specialist. Many people believe that you can’t install blinds on your conservatory roof due to this, and leave it uncovered. Our 25 years of installing conservatory roof blinds have made us well-equipped to install conservatory roof blinds and side blinds for complete coverage. Conservatory ceiling blinds have an array of benefits, both winter and summer. They’re very useful at ensuring your conservatory is not only usable but comfortable. With the winter and the energy bills crisis, there’s been increasing worry about how to keep your home and conservatory warm. So it makes sense to invest in conservatory blinds which really make a difference.

Benefits of Ceiling Blinds

In the winter, ice and snow can sit on a layer on your roof and roof windows making it look and feel colder. Where our blinds fit just in front of your glazing, the layer of material acts as a barrier between your room and the cold exterior. We have over 25 years of experience creating fitted conservatory blinds and therefore can give you the neatest fit possible. The fewer blind gaps you have also means the less heat lost through the glazing.

This high coverage also means increased shading, UV protection and less glare. Most people turn their conservatory into their living room or dining room to get more use out of it. So, you want to be able to keep warm and see your devices.

Additionally, since blinds help with UV protection, they can help preserve the furnishings in your home as the sun can bleach and damage your belongings.

Check out this customer’s review of our roof blinds:

“We were really pleased with the service provided by Specialist Blinds. Our glass roof section is a bespoke size, so we had to get a specialist company to make the blinds. The service was very professional and I was surprised and pleased that it took just two months from quote to installation. We chose electric thermal blinds and we’re absolutely delighted with them. They look great and they really work. Our living room used to get very cold in winter, but it is noticeably warmer now and I look forward the room being much cooler in summer too.”

Best fabrics for ceiling blinds

Our most popular fabrics for ceiling blinds are our Duette® thermal blinds due to their amazing insulation properties. The thermal conservatory blinds have a honeycomb texture and dual-pleats which traps heat in your room. Our thermal blinds are also simple to shape and fit into the different shapes in a conservatory ceiling. Another option for modern conservatory blinds are our pure™ pleated blinds range. However, that has a single pleat within it and is therefore less effective at insulation. For a more traditional finish, we recommend pinoleum blinds but these suit timber orangeries or conservatories the most. We do offer an optional solar lining if you wish to improve the insulation in your conservatory whilst still enjoying dappled shading.

Customer reviews

This has been one of the smoothest processes in redoing our house. Conservatory blinds came when they said they would both for the quote and installation. The installer cleaned up after himself completely and we're very happy with the blinds

I hadn’t ever bought conservatory blinds before but this company made the process very straightforward. The fitter Richard was extremely helpful and has done an excellent job. I’m very happy with the blinds, both the quality and the fitting.

We contacted conservatory blinds for our roof lantern/sky light blinds. Grant came to give us the quote. He was very professional and gave us all the options we could have.

We were then visited by the fitter who took all the measurements and arranged a fitting date with us. Blinds were fitted on the date agreed and they look amazing. It was little over our budget but quality and service we received was definitely worth it.
