Maintaining Your Blinds Before Winter

Duette® Blinds for Conservatory Roof and Windows
Posted: 20 Sep 2017

We’re in that period between summer and winter where a conservatory is no longer too warm to use without blinds; but it’s not quite the time to use your blinds to keep your conservatory warm during the cold weather. As such, this is actually one of the better times to think about maintaining your blinds before they need to be used again; which might mean using the guides in our online customer area to perform your own maintenance. Or it could mean arranging a maintenance visit with a member of our installation team.

The Maintenance Visit

A maintenance visit is a great way to keep your blinds in good working order. During the visit we will:

  • Remove any dust or insects trapped beneath your roof blinds
  • Check and re-tension any motorised drive-cords
  • Clean all micro-cables
  • And make sure that your blinds look as good as they did the day they were fitted.

You can see from the below photos just how much difference a single maintenance visit can make. This example is quite an extreme case, where the customer had not cleaned their blinds for just over 18 months. In that time debris and insects had accumulated behind the blinds:

As you can see from the ‘after’ photo, the maintenance visit has restored the blinds to their original quality making the blinds look like new again.

Booking A Maintenance Visit

Our customers are still looking at quite a long lead-time for our maintenance visits, so it is best to get one booked in before using the blinds during the wintertime. Therefore, get in contact with us sooner rather than later.

Maintenance visits are only available to those who have bought their blinds in the last few years, and will involve a charge for those who do not have our complete service plan. If you’re interested in arranging a maintenance visit for your blinds, just contact us.
