A gable – whether part of a conservatory or on its own – can be a very tricky area to fit blinds into. In the past, to cover a triangular shaped window, a number of small blinds would be required. The only solution for this was to use fixed blinds that are not retractable. Recognising this as a problem, we created our pureaspect™ Gable Blind system. It is specifically designed to create blinds for different types of gables with just a minimal amount of blinds. This allows for different types of gables to be covered with blinds – regardless of the situation.

Basic Triangular Shape Gables

Most gables are in the same basic triangular shape, with the only real difference being the angles involves. It’s instances like these really show off how great our  pureaspect™ Blind system works. The system is able to cover gables with just two blinds; that are neat enough to have a minimal gap between them. This means as much light is shaded as possible.

‘House’ Shape Gables

In some cases the gable shape may extend down below the basic triangle to create more of a ‘house’ shape. This extra space doesn’t mean that the blinds have to be any less neat, though, as our pureaspect™ Gable Blinds can extend to cover even that extra area, while still retracting away neatly.

Unusual Shaped Gables

There are a few occasions where we come across an unusually shaped gable, usually something where the shape is asymmetrical, where it is not possible to use the pureaspect™ blinds in the normal way. However we like these kinds of challenges as it lets us find creative solutions to the problem. In instances like those we are usually able to neatly fit blinds into the space. As we recently did with this unusually shaped gable:

In order to cover this shape we were able to use a series of smaller pureaspect™ gable blinds to neatly fit into the angles of the space. As you can see from the photo, we were still able to cover the entire area. This was with minimal gaps between the blinds – using a combination of movable blinds and fixed infills.

So, neatly fitting blinds into different types of gables can be tricky. Therefore,  if you have a gable that needs blinds, even if it’s a large or unusual shape. It’s best to arrange a meeting with a member of our sales team to see how we would neatly fit blinds into the space.
