It’s winter time and now more than ever people are concerned about keeping the costs down and keeping warm. Conservatories are known for facing unpredictable temperatures as they are so heavily impacted by the weather outside. As you can see from the image below in the winter debris tends to settle on your conservatory roof and condensation often occurs.

Condensation is caused by the temperature dropping, causing the glass to drop in temperature and moist air coming in contact with it. To prevent condensation and make your conservatory warmer, we recommend you follow these steps

Make your Conservatory Warmer with Conservatory Blinds

Installing conservatory blinds can have a  major impact on your conservatory’s insulation. The fabric of the blinds forms a barrier between the cool glass and the rest of your room, acting as a layer of insulation. Our Duette® Thermal Blinds are our most popular blinds for insulation.

However, you can see the difference that pinoleum conservatory roof blinds have in this conservatory. Our pure™ pinoleum provides a clean finish and matches the timber well.  Pinoleum blinds have slightly more gaps in the weave compared to our pleated fabrics, and will therefore be slightly less effective at making a conservatory warmer.

We can provide the closest fit and neatest finish with our pure™ pleated blinds and Duette®  fabrics, which makes them perfect for conservatory usage. Conservatory roofs often have unique angled windows and therefore require a specialist in order to ensure maximum coverage.

The neater the fit on your blinds, the less heat can escape through the glazing in your conservatory. Which is why we recommend our blinds for your roof as well as the sides of your conservatory. Our most popular choice in insulating fabric is our Duette® Thermal Blinds Their dual pleated nature provides an extra layer of insulation as the pleats trap in heat and air.

Just take a look at this customer’s review below about the difference our thermal blinds made in her garden room:

“Excellent friendly service from Andy and Andy, and excellent Duette Linen Silk Blinds, which have transformed the room, making it much more useable in the evenings. Not only do the blinds look great when they are pulled down, but they have made the room much warmer, having thermal properties. The Blinds are very neat when folded up and unlike other types of blinds, they are very inconspicuous and do no detract from the windows.”

Change the Flooring for a Warmer Conservatory

If you’re still looking to retain heat in your conservatory, floorings like wood and tile don’t retain heat for very long and will leave a cool feeling on your feet. Carpets and rugs can therefore make your room warmer (and cosier) by keeping your feet warm and therefore the rest of your body.

Overall, conservatory blinds are a great investment for making your conservatory warmer in the winter and preventing it from getting too hot in the summer. Get a free quotation today to see what we can do for you!
