The “improve don’t move” trend has increased massively over recent years. As a result, many are now choosing to build rear, side, and loft extensions to make their home bigger and better! Any renovation project can be tough; however, it gives consumers the opportunity to design an extension from scratch. That way they can tailor it to their desired home style. A major trend in the last few years has been triangle windows. This type of glazing is normally found in new build homes and extensions as a feature window. With the increased popularity of these windows, there is increased demand for triangle window blinds.
Large triangle shaped windows are great for homes with high ceilings. This is because they help to bring the outside in, by creating an airy and open plan space. However, for those with lower ceilings or smaller extensions, they can choose smaller triangular shaped windows for above their folding or sliding doors.
Bespoke Triangle Window Blinds
We were recently contacted by a customer in Essex. They needed triangular window blinds for a large gable shaped window in their bedroom. They contacted us partly because we specialise in manufacturing and installing blinds for awkward shaped windows and glazing. And we were one of the only companies which could successfully cover this type of window – neatly!

Triangle Window Blinds Tailored to Your Home
The customer had a distinctive gable shaped window, which is very unusual. In a lot of cases a gable shaped window will come to a point at the top. But in this case the glazing had a very large flat top, making it more challenging to find a blind which would fit neatly. Thanks to our years of experience in the industry, our team of experts were able to manufacture two blinds with a flat top which covered the whole top part of the window. In order to do this, we had to use two different rail systems for the window below. This meant aligning the blinds to keep the fabric in place, whilst fitting within the structural beams. This job is a great example of how our blinds can be truly bespoke and unique to your home.
Operating Your Gable Blinds
A large majority of gable windows are very high and out of reach without a ladder, for this reason all our blinds for triangle windows are available in a remote-control option. We have several different remote-control systems, including battery powered and mains powered blinds. This customer had a combination of both battery and low voltage mains powered blinds to cover the triangle windows. While opting for manual recessed blinds for their tilt and turn windows; so they could still fully open their windows without being restricted by the blinds.
A Neat Finish
Covering a triangle window is one thing but finding a solution which covers the windows neatly is another. A main advantage of our pureaspect™ gable blinds is they retract away tidily without covering large amounts of glazing, nor leaving any wires or visible cables over the window.
