Large glazing is a great way to define the space and make your home feel open. However, any large windows can come with challenges relating to temperature control, privacy and even security. A customer in Surrey who needed blinds for these exact reasons recently contacted us. This beautiful home features a variety of windows which are all different shapes and styles; so finding a uniform window treatment that will match all the windows can be tricky.
Thanks to our team of expert installers and manufactures in our UK factory, we were able to successfully cover all the large windows using our bespoke Duette® Pleated blinds.
The Gable End Window
At Conservatory Blinds Limited, our specialities lie with window coverings for large and shaped glazing. This special project put our skills to the test: although the gable blind solution may seem simple, it took our team of experts a great deal of planning and testing to ensure we could provide the neatest possible finish that was still fully operational. The shape of the gable window is very unusual, meaning we had to cover the window with two blinds with two interim rails within the shape. This meant that the blind can retract away neatly with no cables or wires on show.
Large Window Blinds
The design of this home is very unique, with a significant feature being these three tall windows at the front of the house. The windows are nearly 3 meters tall and are behind the main staircase. As a result, we installed our Duette® pleated blinds in fabric colour ‘Gunmetal’. To cover each window, we used two blinds which met in the middle of the windowpane and offered a neat finish to match the rest of the property. Because of the height of the windows and the obstruction of the stairs, our installers had to work from a scaffold tower in order to fit the blinds properly. Overall, this was an extremely complex and detailed project that could simply not have been possible elsewhere.
Home Automation
We offer a range of electric blinds, including our Smart Blinds. Using this, customers can control their blinds via phone, tablet, or digital assistants such as Google Home. It also has functions which allow for the blinds to automatically extend or retract at a desired time; or even when they are not home. Every blind in this home is powered by Lithium Cell Battery Motors; and uses the Somfy products and their Tahoma Smart Home Hub. This means the customers can control all their blinds from one central Somfy App, which is easily downloadable from any smart device. This is a perfect product when wanting to add security when you are not home!
