ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re a blinds manufacturer with real ambition to grow our digital presence, and we’re looking for a talented contract copywriter to help us get there. This is a genuinely broad and interesting role — you’ll be writing everything from SEO-optimised web pages and YouTube descriptions to product brochures, customer mailshots, and social media captions.
More importantly, you’ll be helping us build visibility in a rapidly changing search landscape. Generative AI is reshaping how customers find products, and we want someone who understands that shift and can write content that performs across both traditional search and AI-powered discovery. If you’ve already been working in this space, brilliant. If you’re an exceptional SEO copywriter who’s ready to develop in this direction, we’d still love to hear from you as fundamentally we will still take a human first approach to content.
This isn’t a brief-in, brief-out contract. We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute to how we think about content — someone who can sit with us, understand our products and our customers, and help shape our content strategy as we grow.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Write clear, compelling, SEO-optimised copy for web pages, landing pages, and blog content
roduce content structured for visibility in generative AI and large language model search results
Write YouTube video descriptions, social media captions, and supporting digital copy
Create print collateral including product brochures, catalogues, and other sales materials
Write customer-facing email campaigns and mailshots
Interview and extract knowledge from internal experts — product specialists, technical teams, and sales staff — to ensure content is accurate, authoritative, and genuinely useful
Work closely with our marketing team and AI technical resource to align content with broader strategy
Contribute ideas to our content strategy and help develop our approach to AI search over time
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Proven copywriting experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating range — digital, print, and/or campaign work
- Solid working knowledge of SEO principles and how to write content that ranks
- The ability to interview subject matter experts and translate technical knowledge into accessible, engaging copy
- A naturally curious approach — someone who asks questions, digs for the right information, and doesn’t just write around gaps
- Comfortable working across multiple formats and channels without losing consistency of voice
- Organised and self-sufficient, able to manage your own workload and deadlines within a collaborative team environment
Desirable:
- Understanding of how generative AI and LLM-based search (such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity) surfaces and selects content
- Experience writing for home interiors, home improvement, manufacturing, or e-commerce brands
Familiarity with content strategy frameworks and editorial planning - Experience with tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Surfer SEO, or similar.
Ideally individual will have their own transport so they can visit our factory in Kent when necessary, but this is not a requirement.
